The Irish Heart Attack/ Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS) Audit Objectives
The primary objective of the Heart Attack Audit is to maintain a database of ACS patients admitted to Primary Percutaneous Intervention Centres in Ireland to drive continuous quality improvement to deliver the best patient outcomes.
The objectives are:
- Support the collection of high quality data on ACS patients admitted to Primary Percutaneous Intervention Centres in Ireland for local and national reporting
- Disseminate the outputs from the data in a timely manner to all relevant stakeholders
- Benchmark heart attack care and outcomes nationally and internationally
- Support/promote use of data for improvement of care at local and national level
- Provide data to support the Hospital In-Patient Enquiry system and activity based funding
- Employ data to inform national policy
