Irish Dementia Registry

NOCA welcomes the announcement by Kieran O’ Donnell, Minister of State with responsibility for Older People on development of a Dementia Registry, a key commitment in  the ‘Programme for Government 2025, Securing Ireland’s Future’.

The Irish Dementia Registry (IDR) will be a clinically led development project which will record prospective data on people with memory  impairment and dementia.  To progress this important healthcare initiative and while recruitment is ongoing,  NOCA is working with partners on an Interim Oversight Group.  Those partners are:

  • HSE National Dementia Services

  • HSE Enhanced Community Care Programme

  • HSE National Centre for Clinical Audit.
