Aim
The Irish Audit of Paediatric Diabetes (IAPD) aims to measure and improve care processes, patient experiences of care, and health outcomes for children and young people living with diabetes across Ireland, with a focus on reducing disparities.
Objectives
Ensure timely, standardised care for children and young people with diabetes, with consistent monitoring to optimise diabetes management, thereby preventing diabetes-related complications.
Empower patients by improving the quality and accessibility of structured patient-centred education and follow-up support for children and young people living with diabetes along with their caregivers.
Promote better patient and family reported outcomes and experiences of care.
Optimise access to essential Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) resources to support comprehensive care and effective diabetes management.
Optimise the accessibility and use of diabetes management technologies.
Optimise the process for transitioning patients from paediatric to adult diabetes care to improve patient experiences and outcomes.
