We are pleased to announce our plans for Clinical Audit Awareness Week 2025, taking place from the 2nd to the 6th of June. This annual event, initially established in the UK by the Healthcare Quality Improvement Partnership and he National Quality Improvement (incl. Clinical Audit) Network (N-QI-CAN), underscores the importance of clinical audit and quality improvement in healthcare. Over the past three years, NOCA has proudly aligned with this initiative, and we are excited to continue our participation with a series of engaging activities.

The commitment to quality improvement in healthcare was evident through submissions to the NOCA Quality Improvement Champion Award 2025 and the NOCA Poster Competition. Four projects were shortlisted and presented at the NOCA Annual Conference 2025, in association with RCSI Charter Week on the 4th February 2025.
The NOCA Annual Conference 2025 was held on the 4th February, in association with RCSI Charter Week. The event saw nearly 500 healthcare professionals, managers, researchers and patients advocates gather for the ninth NOCA Annual Conference. The day was filled with insightful discussions, innovative presentations, and valuable networking opportunities.
The Irish Heart Attack Audit National Report 2022 and 2023 was launched via webinar on the 10th December 2024. The event brought together over 100 delegates who tuned in to learn about the key findings are recommendations arising from the report, as well as hearing from experts involved in heart attack care.

The event brought together over 200 delegates who tuned in to learn about the key findings are recommendations arising from the report, as well as hearing from experts involved in hip fracture care.
This Act contributes to embedding a culture of openness, transparency, and compassion, ensuring that clinicians and the health service engage with patients and families when things go wrong. The Act offers important protections for clinical audit. Clinical audit is vital for enhancing patient care, and this legislation supports a safer, more transparent healthcare environment.
We are pleased to announce the introduction of a new audit platform from NOCA, which aims to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of data entry, updating, reporting and management. The first audit to go-live on the new platform will be the Irish National Orthopaedic Register (INOR) in Q4 2024.
On the 29th May 2024, NOCA hosted a webinar to launch two critical care reports - the Irish National ICU Audit Annual Report on 2022 data & the Irish Paediatric Critical Care Audit National Report 2021-2022. Key findings were presented from both reports, with insights from experts in critical care, as well as inspiring patient stories.
HIPFEST 2024, celebrating 10 years of data from the Irish Hip Fracture Database, was held on the 21st May 2024 in RCSI. The event saw over 200 healthcare professionals, managers, researchers and patients advocates gather to celebrate the advances in hip fracture care over the last decade.
